How many additional mags do you generally buy per gun?

Once I decide on what to use for my CWL I'm thinking of getting maybe 3-4 extra mags.

Bought 2 extra mags for my .22 buckmark. Otherwise I havent bought any additionals for my others...

Everyone else?

I maintain 4 mags per weapon. I'll probably up that soon.

I like to have at least 5 mags for each pistol. More if it's a gun that gets hard use or is shot a lot.

whatever I feel like, gawd...
18x 30 round mags, 2x 20 round mags and 1x 10 round mag for AR15
3 30 rounders and 1 20 rounder for 9mm AR15
1 9 rounder and 1 13 rounder for XDM45c
1 10 rounder and 2 17 rounders for SR9C
2 19 rounders for XDM9
3 10 rounders for enfield 303.
2 25 rounders and 1 10 rounder for 10/22
1 15 rounder and 1 7 rounder for enfield 45 acp(despite the fact that it's not up and running yet)

yep, there's no rhyme or reason to my mag purchases.

I like four mags for any gun that sees much use. For my 1911s, I also have a bunch of range mags that I will use with any of them.

Actually thinking about it.. I perfer to take less mags to the range. The break in reloading actually saves me ammo, gives me a few minutes to catch my breath and refocus, and look around and see what else is going around near my lanes.

2 mags for all current production guns. Easy to find new ones if I need to. Older out of production I would like to have 4

I took that approach when I first got into handguns. Then the AWB passed and I watched magazines that I had purchased for under $20 a couple of years earlier climb to over $100.

It's true that I could still get them easily, but it was tough to pay the price...

As a minimum, I like to have 5 mags for SD guns and 10 is preferred. It makes trips to the range for practice a little more efficient. For bolt rifles, one spare is fine.

2-3 for pistols and I've got 1 Beta, 9-30 rounders for my AR. I agree with Apom. I like to reload the mags at the range because it really does give me more time to think about what I'm doing right or wrong. The AR has more mags because of the desire to try different mags from different companies.

Having 2 magazines per pistol is the minimum for me. I prefer to have at least 5. These days pistols come with one or two. Occasionally you get more. I may only carry one extra magazine, but I want at least two others on hand if any become a problem. The less a pistol I have gets used the fewer magazines I seem to have for it.

Depends on the gun. I like to have at least two (Ruger LCP) but have as many as six for my range gun (Springfield TRP 1911).

Four, generally. Depends, though. I've got about ten for my 1911s, but not out of necessity. I'd feel fine with four.

I am not a fan of extra mags when carrying, I prefer a BUG, but I do have at least five mags for each of my guns for range use. I hate to waste good range time loading magazines.

I like to have enough to hold 50 rounds (1 box) for a range visit. 10 round mags = 5, 13 round mags = 4, 8 round mags = 6, etc. If the range charges by the hour I don't like to wast time loading mags.

I concur w/ Krezyhorse. Pistols I shoot more, obviously, more mags. 1911 magazines seem to have multiplied over the years to make up the majority for some reason.

CZ75, BHP and the G17 have 6 +/- each. Others, 2 min.

YMMV but it works for me.

I bought a 3rd mag for my G19, and I may get a 4th. I'm struggling to find a mag for my Ruger MkIII. If I find a supplier, I may buy two, giving me 4 total, althgouh 3 woulod be enough.

I may also buy a 10 round CZ452 mag as I only have my standard 5 shot mag at the moment. Otherwise, that is it....

I've purchased far too many for several of my Glocks, but it sure is nice to have them all loaded up when I head out to the gun club.

I like to have at least 2 extras. Not a hard and fast rule, just my preference.
