I local shop is selling an 870 Express HD for $250 (on sale). Good deal?
Anyway, what is with the "dimples" that I keep on reading about? I'm not a gunsmith. If I can get my hands on a dremel, how hard is it to remove the dimples to attach a mag tube extension? What is the reliability of this extension? Will it cause the shotgun to jam unexpectedly? Thanks for any info! |

The dimples are close to the end of the mag tube and would prevent shells from passing into the extension
I removed the dimples on my 870 myself with a dremel tool, and I've never had a jam |

The 870 HD model is not designed for the mag tube extension so therefore if you remove those dimples either yourself or a gunsmith it will take it with no problem.
The Remington catalog states that it cannot take any Law Enforcement accessory which is the tube extension. Everything else can be changed to what you prefer. New forend, shorter stock, etc. |
