Single shot and Bolt Action.
Does any one know of any shotguns that are single shot or bolt action, that have a rifled barrel?
I ask this because with some of the advances in slugs these days you can take the effective range of a shotgun much farther than most hunters are used to. I would like to see what a nice rifled slug gun could do with good slugs and a scope. Any suggestions? |

Savage builds the Model 210 bolt-action slug gun. Mossberg used to but I think they dropped it. Regardeless there should be numerous used guns out there.
H&R/NEF builds single-shot slug guns - they are cheap and accurate! Hope this helps.

From every one's experiance whats the longest you would expect a slug to travel with only 2 to 3 inches of drop? I know with my Browning A5 i've taken deer at 100 to 110 yards with rifled slugs in a smooth barrel. I would image that todays modern slugs in a rifled barrel would add quite a bit of range to a shot gun.
