That guy would get not one red cent from me, again, ever.

There are other G34's out there. PM me if you want info on a local store in my area that has G34's gen3 and 4, complete. Seems like the prices were less than $680 too, though you would have to arrange and pay for a transfer.

Advising Glock on his shenanigans is probably a good idea too.

Yea, I sent Glock an e mail, and no I won’t do business with him again. New store in a nearby town and everything was high. Guy must be living off the crazy time.
But with that said I did hold it and the hump don’t bother me. There is one other store that has a 34 but it’s not a gen 4 and I prefer a 4 for now.
There are more stores in the aria and a gun show “next” weekend (messed up on the date).
Thanks for the suggestion on other guns but I’m ether going to get a 34 now that I have handled one or just stay with my Gold Cup and live with more mag changes. And me a Glock hater >5 years ago.

The so-called "hump" is an issue created by the Glock haters.
After decades of shooting 1911's and most other front line service handguns, my G17 feels great in my hand, and points like a finger.

No, that’s not correct. The new Gen 4, 34’s have a slightly different back strap with a little more pronounced hump.
On the 34 the top half of the grip has less curve and felt shorter front to back where as the Gen 4 felt narrow at the top which felt wider at the bottom front to back.
Please don’t start this into an “only Glock haters say that” thread. There have been good inputs and good suggestions. I appreciate people’s negative comments and not unsubstantiated name calling.

I've heard disparaging comments about the "Glock hump" for years before there was a Gen4...and comments on its supposedly deleterious affect on shootability.

3 G34's

Would have been cheaper to buy some extra magazines, smile.

My Glock 34 G4 included 3 mags.
New sights and new trigger helps for USPSA.

I have a 35. Only reason I got it , instead of 34 was ability to convert it to 9,.357 sig and 10mm.
from my understanding you can shoot .22, 9mm .357 from the G35. 10mm/45acp has a larger grip. I agree though I went with the 35 for the versatility.

Correct, you cannot shoot 10mm out of a Glock 35 (or any other Glock .40), because the conversions don't work that way.

Well, I found another one in town today. Used and a little beat up with scratches on the slide.
4 magazines and both back straps Gen 4.
$730.
I’ll tell you, I am about to stay with the Gold Cup and just reload more.
Gun show this weekend, see what I can do

A new Glock 34 came home with me!!!!!

Had a happy day at the gun show. New Gen 34 TWO TONE for a price that was good 9 months ago. With tax 630$.
4 back straps 3 magazines.
BUT
Since the Glock rep gun smith was there I gave it to him and said do your best.
250$ later. Tritnim front and rear with the peep rear. Glock competition adjustable trigger that is set right now to 2 ½ pounds and will go from 1 to 4 pounds. And everything that moves was polished. The trigger right now has no resemblance to a Glock, NONE. It’s as good as my Kimber and that’s saying a lot.
I will try to get better photos of the sights but right now I have to go help the wife in the garden.
Those married will understand.
Side note. The new Gen 4 Glocks, the front sights are no longer pressed in post. They are held in by a set screw from underneath.

I had never seen a rear sight like that on a Glock. That's pretty cool. I wonder how that would work with my front fiber optic sight???

I'm going to think about it.

Sorry I can’t get a better photo, can’t step the F stop down enough to get the field of focus I need.
There are also two white tritium dots on either side of the rear peep and you align the green dot so you get a straight line across or like peep sights on my rifles you center in the circle.
It’s probably not the best for pin point accuracy but for action shooting which this gun will be used for it’s the fast reaction time this will work best.
I have tried them before. A good friend has a 19 with the same set only his front is red. For me the green shown more brightly.
In the photo the opening is not as big as it looks compared to the front.
The big advantage with this sight is when you’re old enough that AARP sends you mail, the eyes don’t work as well as they did. The peep will sharpen the view of the front sight.

Ok, the trigger stop is a Lone wolf.
The trigger is a NiB-X same for the firing pin.
The trigger bar is adjustable from 1 to 4 and I have been playing with it and I'll stay a little above 2.
So now for my next problem,, holster rig?
No,,, cant shoot it till Saturday,,, I have several thousand white box that wants to kill paper.

First day out for a Glock 34.

First day out for a Glock 34.
This was the first time out with a new 34 I purchased several weeks ago. This is a gen 4 with Trijicon sights and replacement of the trigger set at 2 ½ pounds.
The trigger is very smooth for a Glock. Reset is still a little long for me but since this will be a competition gun I’ll have to get used to it.
Saturday and 400 rounds later I’m a little disappointed.
Reliability, I know many people say that if a gun needs a break in then it’s a piece of junk, maybe so but then this one was a piece of junk.
Of the first 100 rounds I had 13 failures from failures to feed or stove pipes. Although that disappointed me I will have to add that these were my reloads and were loaded to medium pressure. The disappointing thing is that these same reloads function flawlessly in two different Berettas, a G26, S&W 3906, and an MP5.
The empties when extracted barely made it past my strong hand or bounced against my chest and fell around my feet. Some I actually saw roll off the top of the slide.
Once I got pass 100+ I had no more failures but I still don’t like the lack of extraction energy.
I ran a box of factory Remington hard ball and had no failures but again extraction energy is low. I ran 1 magazine of Winchester silver tip and again no problems and the empties ended up to the right 2 feet from my feet.
One other problem, at 120 – 150, when I was inserting a new magazine. When reloading I place my index finger out of the trigger guard and along the side of the frame. I felt something sticking out.
The pin that holds the trigger in had worked its self out about a 1/8th of an inch. I pushed it back in with a 223 round and I had no other issues after that.
The sight, the rear sight is a Trijicon peep sight. Target accuracy is not that good. If you look at the photos attached to the previously you can see the type.
When held in a normal shooting stance the front sight only fills the rear aperture by less than 20%. There is a large gap on either side of the front sight. Vertical alignment is difficult since the only help is the two dots on either side of the peep.
With practice I was able to get groups down to 5 inches at 15 yards. With conventional Trijicon sights on my G26 I can easily beat that.
This gun was purchased to compete in action pistol shooting and on the last 5 magazines I put up 3 targets from 7 to 15 yards spaced more than 5 yards apart.
That’s where these sights shined. I always shoot with both eyes open and this makes it even easier. The front sight stands out since you can see the entire front sight along with a small portion of the slide even with the top of the front centered.
Multiple targets timed these are very good sights and I’m glad I had them installed. Swinging the gun from target to target it was easy to keep the front centered in the rear. Very easy. It also made multiple shots easy.
With these sights this is the fastest gun I have ever owned for multiple targets.
The only thing here is that I want to change the front from green to red. With the darker back ground red works better.
The photo is a 15 yard target off hand and 5 of the last magazines

Let me see if I get this right. You bought a brand new G34, before you even fired it you had a lot of customization done to it. You fired with your own reloads not factory ammo. And now you think the Glock is a piece junk.

There are so many variable here that have been added to the equation, without any baseline ever being established that I wouldn't know where to start.

However, for starters you no longer have any warranty on a brand new gun. And to blame Glock after all those changes it strikes me as very unfair.

I hope you save the original parts that came with the gun. Personally, I wouldn't ever modify any firearm until I had first verified that it works properly and I liked enough to spend additional money on it.

Good luck.

You don’t read very well Eppie. I never said that the gun is a piece of junk. I said that a lot of people say that if a gun needs a break in it’s a piece of junk. This one did need a break in with light loads.
The only real problem I had was with reloads that normally work with other Glocks.
And since a Glock rep did all the work it is still under warranty.
And since nothing was done to the main spring or slide or barrel the lack of extraction is not due to the parts being replaced.
As far as reloads I will have to bring the power level up that’s all.
Last, if I do have a long term problem, I see the Glock rep every month and will give him the gun. This isn’t the first gun I have modified before firing and won’t be the last. I don’t care about warranties. I only want someone I know working on my guns. If it’s a catastrophic failure then it’s my loss if I modify a gun. I really don’t care.
P.S. as long as no one gets hurt

giaquir, how strong is the extraction on your Gen 2? How far do empties travel?

Ozzie, both my friend and I recently purchased Glock 34s (him a Gen 4, and a Gen 3 for myself). Neither of us have had serious extraction problems, but we have been using factory ammo only. My gun throws empties exactly where it should and exactly where my Gen 2 G19 does. However, his G34 sometimes lobs the cases back at him and he occasionally takes one on the top of the head.

Your extractor could be having a problem, but I seriously doubt that it has anything to do with the modifications that were made to the gun or the reloads.

Thanks allaround. Before I do anything else I’m going to work up some loads with higher pressure. The reloads I was shooting were slightly over minimum loads and around 1000 FPS.
Like I said once I got past +100 I didn’t have any more failures.

The piece of junk has been healed.
Spent the week building 400 of a load set I shot last weekend.
Extraction is normal, of the reloads I had 0 failures. This was with a 124 GR and .2 under max W 231.
I tried several magazines where I put half loaded rounds and one empty case then the rest of the way filled. No failures. Fed the empties.
So is no longer a piece of junk.
The target was 15 yards off hand and the only target I used for the 400, also I shot 2 boxes of Rem green box. There are a lot of flyers but the vast majority was shot with the gun off target brought up and two rounds fired.
This was not a target session, this was getting used to the gun and getting a load that works 100%. But there were none off target as well as I can tell.

Glock34 Gen4 -easy and acurate

Finally able to buy one in NJ - No small task. With the beaver tail large insert strap, it fits my hand like it was made for me.
I've never fired a gun, I was lucky to have a friend, former Army Ranger, give me a lesson and take me to his range. He squeezed off some rounds- everything left. Same for me so we adjusted sights. When I did everything that he told me correctly. only 5-7 yds away but I was dead on. I put about 25% of the shots on my first sheet thru the white center. Also had some nice shots at numbers when I aimed at those. I tried some double taps and drifted way off to the left but that's clearly from me. Especially since my friend was freakishly accurate putting most of his rounds thru the hole he already made. The gun performed flawlessly and is very accurate even in the hands of a first timer. It was helpful to have him assess what I did wrong when I missed so I knew why. I like the trigger pull. He let me fire a couple of his other guns that were pretty touchy. (Liked the Glock 45 a lot . Also a Desert Eagle 50 cal -too much for me.) I fired about 200 rounds thru my new Glock- very accurately until I started getting tired which was unexpected. Only pain was having to keep loading ammo into 10 round mags. I really like this gun. I'll try to attach pic i took of my first practice sheet. (Mine is on the right, Ranger on left... obviously.)

G34

I have Gen 4 models 26 and 34 and a new Glock 42. The 34 has a "Skimmer" trigger and "Ameriglo" sights. I really like this gun for IDPA and general practice shooting. You will never carry this gun concealed unless you are a really big guy, but otherwise it is a good all purpose weapon that is very easy to shoot. If I had a choice, the 34 would be the gun I brought to a "bad situation".
