That's not class material. We buy our barrels pre-made and have to contour them and cut the shank to fit the receiver & bolt. Ditto with the class that takes AR building.
I asked my instructor via email if barrel making could be a summer course.

I don't know of any gunsmithing school that teaches students how to make a barrel from nothing but a hunk of steel. Not even for low-tech barrels like a BP muzzle-stuffer.

I have never done it, and don't plan to, but it is nice to know it can be done and the post was interesting. I have a feeling it is not quite that simple, though.

I bought that book years ago
The blank is drill with a gun drill and a rifling broached is pushed by a hydrologic cylinder The polished drilled hole Several chapter on alot topics
