CMP M1 Sales

Apparently the "no more Garands" rumors are false. They are just back logged.

Got this from the CMP This morning.

Quote:
CMP posted Friday, May 13, 2016, that we are not accepting orders for RM1SPECIAL, RM1SERVICE and RM1FIELD. Any orders postmarked on or before May 16, 2016, will be accepted. We are in a backorder status for all of the rifles listed. It may take 6 months or longer to fill those orders. Once our backorder log is filled, we will open sales for these rifles again. We currently have M1D's and M1C's available for purchase and ready to ship.
However they wont last forever. If you want a Garand (and every red blooded American should) save your bucks so you can get one when they start taking orders again.

Don't you need to qualify with shooting or something to purchase one? I would love a near mint garand. I want a collector piece that I can also bring out to the range because lets be real, what good is a rifle you don't want to shoot?

You need to belong to a CMP affiliated club (or Garand Collector's Assn)

You do need some sort of proof of gun activity, Competition, CCW Permit, DD214, etc.

And proof of citizenship.

Go to www.odcmp.com for more information.

"...I would love a near mint Garand..." Not what you'll get from the CMP. Still the best option for most people though. You know you will get a rifle that is safe to shoot and is exactly as it's advertised. CMP is well known for fixing any issues that crop up too.
Collector Grade Rifles are sold ONLY by auction. None currently listed.
And shoot the matches even if you don't have to. Great fun and you'll meet some of the best people you ever will.
Start here. http://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/rifle_sa...-requirements/
