Can't remove wilson compensator
I picked up a used taurus pt1911 that came with a wilson multi-comp compensator and I can't get the damn thing off. I can get it to turn about 1/4" counter clockwise but it just totally stops. Is there something I am missing??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... |

It is likely set up to fit into the barrel bushing slots in the slide. Turning it counter clockwise will lock it into the retention slot (then you can't get it out), turning it clockwise will allow the lug to move into the recoil spring channel and then you can pull the compensator out the front.

That was it and I wasn't pushing the spring down far enough. Thanks for your help!
