How Rare? Marlin 99C.
I picked up what I thought was a Marlin Model 60 many years ago, oiled it up for storage, and forgot about it. Now I get around to checking it over and I find that it is a Marlin Model 99C with the golden trigger. It's easily in 100% condition. I know that they were only made for a few years, but what I can't find is the total number produced. Anyone have any idea. Are these collectible?
Thanks.

My blue book says that it is rare only if it is in 22-250, .284 Win or 7mm-08 caliber. If not one of those then it is worth about $575 in 100% condition. Add 50% for 22-350 or 75% for .284 or 7mm-08.

You are thinking of the Savage Model 99.

I'm sorry, I just saw again you said Marlin 99C, let me try again.
Marlin 99C made from 1961-1978 price range depending on grading $75-$150. I thought is was odd that you could mistake a semi auto .22 for a lever action centerfire. Been a long day. Last edited by CTS; February 10, 2013 at 07:06 PM. |

This year I bought a 1959 Marlin 99 tube fed 22LR that looks similar to te subsequent Marlin 60. Nicer wood and a different attachment of the tube in front and a heftier front sight. Range report when the mud dries up.
