Manage match fees using PayPal

Receive Payments using PayPal for match fee and other
If you use (SSI) for arranging / scoring / ... your USPSA/IPSC/Steel/IDPA/PPC match you can now allow all competitors to pay their match fee and any orders directly to you PayPal account online using their credit card/PayPal account. All this is fully integrated with your match shop in SSI (i.e. orders are marked as paid immediately and automatically when you have receive payment). For all details on how to configure this and use it read the SSI reference manual.

This will save lots and lots of time when you arrange a match and make it much easier and faster for shooters to pay their registration fees and other stuff they order from you.

EzWinScore for USPSA fully supported
SSI is now fully interoperable with EzWinScore - the official scoring software of USPSA. This means you can at any time export your USPSA match to EzWinScore from SSI as needed. You can perhaps only use SSI for easy match registration from the web, you can perhaps even define the complete match and stages in SSI or even do all scoring here - then you simply export all match info to EWS and use the features of this (perhaps import to for stats). This integration has been done in tight cooperation between the developers of EzWinScore and SSI and they are now both 1:1 scoring compatible. This means that if you have an existing installation of EWS and perhaps the Palm Pilot SW you can use this together with SSI.

Have a great new shooting year !

Doesn't PayPal have a reputation for being an anti-gun organization?
If so, is it wise to support them?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Shoot'n Score It is just for arranging sporting events - sport shooting events - and you can use PayPal for match fees, lunch tickets, t-shirts...

Shoot'n Score It is NOT for selling/buying firearms or firearms parts (which is not ok under the PayPal Acceptable Use Policy). Guess this last part makes'em sort of anti-gun.

We do not make any statement or approve/disapprove on PayPals terms of use, it is only a very good and easy to use service that allows for payment integration and can be used worldwide. Unfortunately there is not really that many of those around that allows for this to be done.

I do not like PPs position on firearms.
But if one were to boycot every business that had, or supported, views we did not agree with, we would be camped around a fire outside and chasing game with spears.
PP is a business that provides services I find very useful and I use them. Part of my use of them supports my views whether they like it or not.

My thoughts were that you risk losing your account on PayPal by paying for firearms related goods and services. I believe their user agreement states that you can't use it for anything that pertains to firearms or even knives.

I had my account closed by PayPal for that very reason.

response from PayPal

I have now been exchanging some emails (see text below) and PayPal has confirmed it is ok to use them for Shoot'n Score It and match fees and other related merchandize regarding a sport shooting competition.

Note that PayPal states very explicit and clear in the acceptable use policy from PayPal that it can not be used for transactions for firearms, firearms parts or ammo (so you can not use it for match ammo in a competition).

I appreciate that all of you have expressed concern regarding the PayPal policy and I share it and will investigate other alternatives to add as payment methods that will complement PayPal and I will post info on this here to get your feedback (will investigate google wallet, amazon and some other),

I will during next week add the ability to state if a merchandize that you have created in SSI shall be included (default) or not in online Payment for competitors. This will allow you to create a match shop for your event including e.g. match ammo and lots of other stuff but to have match ammo excluded from the online payment (and then you need to handle this separately offline).

These merchandizes are not firearms or parts for firearms as this is not

Is this a correct interpretation of the acceptable use policy from

Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding PayPals Acceptable Use
PayPal has added an Acceptable Use Policy to the User Agreement to

The Acceptable Use Policy highlights some of the legal
