Beautiful LongRifles, Inc. I would be lucky to see a sheet of plywood at a 1,000 yards with eyes only, let alone hit it.

Coupla thoughts:

1) Seems like there are some people who will never believe until they see it done live-and-in-person with their own eyes; maybe not even then

2) Some people consistently over-rate their abilities (are average or below-average shooters and don't know it)

3) The people who over-rate their abilities are more numerous than those who actually have above-average abilities and are honest about their achievements

4) Due to point # 3, it becomes too easy to mistake a person from group # 3 with someone from group # 2

5) This leads to the issue mentioned in point # 1

Longrifles, for some of these shooters long range is 100 yards!

I have shot with some of the best shooters out there when I lived in AZ, and I know what these people are capable of, it is just mind boggling to see how easy they shoot a clean at 1000 yards while you struggle not to shoot anything worse than an 8..

My claim to fame is that 8 years ago I did beat 28 out of 30 Marine shooters with M14's in a 1000 yard service rifle match (ran by Mid) shooting my stock Garand with Var barrel. That included shooting 2 misses when we had a 180 degree wind change that took me 10 minutes of windage to get back on target. These days I don't think I could see the targets any more.

Under 2" is good. 1 MOA would be 3" it is ok but not match quality. 1/2 MOA or better for matches.

3" is good. Any less than that has to be better than good.

Lets just say I am humbled by what some can do with an "camera obscura" ( aka aperture sights. I need me one of those.
