Disassembly of a Smith model 52 mag??
Hi everyone,
I wanted to disassemble my smith model 52 mag because it is absolutely filthy and I am getting feeding problems. I removed the baseplate and spring, but since the follower assembly slides into machined grooves on the side of the mag, I cannot seem to figure out how to remove it. Any thoughts??? -George |

Boy, it's been a lot of years since I had mine.
The follower was held in by a steel pin that "followed" the grooves in the magazine body. There was a round area at the end of the slot, on the bottom end, if I remember right. Slide the follower and pin down, then push the pin out the round hole. I haven't seen any of the later ones. I heard they had plastic followers. The metal ones looked like they were a handful to manufacture. Best, Kur
