I will use this Ruger M77 MK2 Frontier .308, that my wife bought me this Leupold for.
Its also got a 1 inch Spacer and Packmyer on it, to adjust for leingth of pull.
This is a very acurate carbine.

I will be shooting my old Remington 870 Express with 2 3/4" slugs. Shots past 75 yards are rare in my corner of SE OH.

I will be using a '94 winchester with irons. Rifle season is getting to easy around here.

for my Win M70 Classic in .270 WSM.

Bought the rifle in 2006, about the time Winchester quit making M 70's, but have used only 130 grain "standard" soft point ammo, such as Rem Core Loct.

But this year I am going to shoot the 110 grain Barnes Tippped Triple Shock (TTSX), a lead free Barnes X bullet with a polycarbonate tip to initiate quicker upset. Loaded by Federal.

Being lighter weight, it achieves higher velocity than 130 grain loads (3
,500 fps vs. 3,250 fps) which in turn results in a flatter trajectory.

Being, basically, a Barnes "X" bullet, this bullet will not shed hardly any of its initial weight, other than the weight of the polycarbonate tip.

I expect the small bodied Texas deer I will be hunting will react to this bullet as though being hit by a lightening bolt, especially at less than 200 yards, while most of the muzzle velocity is still present.

Did I mention the rifle is a left handed Featherweight? With a Pentax Lightseeker scope, 3 to 11 power, Adjustable Objective? Sweet!!!

Same thing that I have been using for deer for 35 years. Ruger M77R in 300WM. It has never failed me.

... it's a toss-up between the plain-Jane Remington 700ADL with Nikon Pro-Staff BDC in .30-06, or my SA M1 Garand with 5rd clip (but to use deer ammo in the M1, I'd have to change the gas ports).

Probably the Remington, assuming I get the opportunity.

I started out the season with my Savage 7mm Rem Mag, I picked it up for a song after deer season last year. I have taken 3 deer with it so far, so I think I will start taking my Remmy 700 30-06 that has been my deer rifle for the last 20 years. I don't want it to feel left out after all the years.

I've taken one already with my Ruger Blackhawk in .45LC

Its muzzy season now, so I plan to take some with my Rem. 700 ML.

And once rifle season gets underway, I'll take some with my Remington .280 in 700 Remington and some with my Marlin 336. I'd also like to take one with a garand, and perhaps some of my other "battle rifles" just so they can taste blood again.

Well, first of all my Blaser R93 in .270. Then my Marlin 336 in .30-30 and finally my Encore in .308 and/or 6mm barrels. I just like to use different guns during the season. I practice a lot with all of them and each is very accurate for their specific uses, ranges.

Already did my hunting this year. Remington 1917 in 30-06 brought down my Red Stag and my Savage .300 Win Mag took care of the 9-pt White Tail.

For deer I'm shooting my old Winchester Model 70 in .243, I love that rifle. For elk I'm shooting my Win model 70 in 30-06. Deer season starts on Friday and it can't get here soon enough.

I'm packing my Grandpas old 03 Springfield. Open site, sporterized and loaded with 180gr cast bullets. He died when I was about 4 so this gun aint killed a deer in close to 40 years. I figure its due.

8mm Mauser with full power Norma 165 gr hollow points, same as every year.

Possibly my 30-inch barreled 12 GA in some areas, but I'm a rifleman.

Haven't decided yet if I will bow hunt this year, but definitely slug hunting with a scoped savage. 45 handgun as a finisher if it is wounded...

Custom .54 Hawken for the most part. My custom 30-06 for the longer shots. Maybe a 7MM, .58 Enfield, Rossi 44-40, Winchester 30-30. Just depends on my mood for any given day.
