.308 load for 115gr SAECO # 254 bevel base ?
I was wondering if anyone has a tried and true load for the 30 cal Saeco #254 bevel base cast bullet ? I have some sized to .309 from 50/50 ww/lino . Rifle is bolt action Rem 700 in .308 winchester . These are bevel base , was wondering if I can prevent leading or should I abandon the idea of using a non-gas checked light bullet in the 308 ? Thanks for any info .

I will move this to the cast bullet forum for you.
I would assume the old 30 Cal universal plinker loads of 9 (or 10 or 12 grains, depending who you read) of Unique will probably work just fine and stay under 2000 fps in a 24" tube.

Thank you Sir , sorry for putting it in the wrong place . Also, thanks for the info . I have Unique , will give that a try . I was worried about gas cutting/leading and while researching it the answers were all over the map . I guess I will never know if I don't try.

I agree with Unclenick - Unique is excellent for your intended purposes. I personally use Trail boss for gallery plinking loads with lead bullets in .30-30, .30-40, .308 win and others.
Here's a reference for trail boss https://hodgdon.com/wp-content/uploa...loads-2018.pdf
