Winchester 16 gauge model 37 w/45-70 adapter
I recently acquired a Winchester model 37 in 16 gauge and to spice things up a bit, i was curious about purchasing an adapter(10 inches) to fire 45-70 ammo out of it. My question is, will this be safe or will I damage the Winchester and myself?

The weak point on the Model 37 Winchester is the butt stock to frame mounting. The wood splits relatively easy with heavy field loads. Not an east fix if it happens. Don't ask me how I know. Slugs occasionally a better answer.
