Wyosmith: Nice lefty percussion. I would love a "Flinty" Daniel Boone Pennsylvania style in .36 or .45 caliber. Maybe someday!! Might have to try th kit method if they have them in lefty style!!! Thanks for the pic!!

Yes Vostracker, there are left hand kits made. I know Jim Chambers offers one.
I very seldom use "kits" I have made about 3 in the last 10 years. Nearly all my guns are made from blanks and many have hand made metal parts too, so I am not an authority on what kits are available, but I can vouch for the quality of Chambers kits.

Well Vostracker, the 1st rifle I posted pics of sold for $2,800 and the left hand one above sold for $3,400. I make flintlock rifles from about nine hundred to about sever thousand, depending on how fancy they are. I build to the customer’s budget, so in effect, if the price can be $900 or more, you'd tell me what a rifle will cost instead of me telling you.

My back log is a mixed blessing. The down side is that it takes a 2 1/2 to 3 year wait to get one of my rifles and the good side is that almost everyone can afford what they really want, if they spread out the payments over 3 years.
I feel bad telling people that they will have to wait 3 years, but I can't do anymore. I am working 12 hour days and 6 days a week now. It's all I can do. What I ask for up-front is only the price of parts and materials. Send NO MONEY for labor until I am ready to go to work. Put it in an envelope as you earn it, and save it for me until I call or write, and let you know it's your turn.
If you'd like me to "bank" that money for you , I can, but I don't really bank it. (I don't use banks ever. I made predictions that the banking industry would be the largest weapon for socialists to destroy this country over 30 years ago, and time has proven me right.
I refuse to help socialists destroy my own country. )
I just put your cash in an envelope with you name on it in my safe and it never gets touched until I am earning it. If for any reason you ever had to back out, you'd get all your parts and materials back, and all your money that was sent for labor in the future. In that way, I feel I can be fair in my business dealings with everyone, and the only thing you'd risk is me dying before I get to you gun.
(I am not too worried about that yet. I am in very good health)

In fact, I live in the middle of the "shinnin mountain country". In the Wind River Valley. We still have big bear, buff, and all manor of running game fit for sport and table fare.

My customer Carlin is the man who bought this rifle, (first set of pics on page 1) but he's been informed that he has cancer. It's now got to be sold to help him pay medical bills.

Those rifles are so beautiful, I would put them under glass and never take them out. For what your getting, they don't seem very expensive. I wish they were within my means, I'd buy one yesterday!

Your blanks are some of the nicest wood I have seen, the carving and metal work superb. I struggle just to do some basic wire inlay. These are among the nicest rifles I have seen and you are giving them away at those prices. Thanks for sharing this.

Just for informational purposes, I will tell you that I do take payments, so the rifles are far more affordable than many may think.

As for this rifle....please...if you know ANYONE that might be able to buy it to help Carlin with his medical expenses, it would be deeply appreciated.

Perhaps you can arrange to put the gun on consignment on the Track of the Wolf website and then send it in to them. It seems to have a value above the asking price and Track has a great reputation for being able to sell the highest quality custom made guns.

Or you can register to sell it on Gunbroker yourself and then ship it directly to the buyer without any third party involvement.
Gunbroker has very reasonable selling fees for high end guns. For instance, a listed gun that sells for $3000 will be accessed a fee of $50.63 afterward, which can be added to the selling price to be paid for by the eventual buyer.

With 400 hours work, I was thinking somewhere around $6000. Charging $8/hour to create a masterpiece like that, I must beg to differ about your statement that you don't give them away!
