I don't know what you call "upper midwest".
South Dakota is considered Mid West (I think). In Spearfish SD they have pistol matches ever two weeks starting in March through November. Many of the matches has shoot - no shoot senarios and hostage targets. If you're in THAT part of the mid west let me know and I'll give you a list 2013 matches. Or if anyone else is interested let me know. Great Range, Well run SAFE matches and best of all GREAT SHOOTERS. Entry fees are only $5.

top US schools & instructors...
For shoot-don't shoot or use of force skill training, I'd check these sources; NRA, www.nra.org Clint Smith/Thunder Ranch, Gunsite, Massad Ayoob, www.massadayoobgroup.com , Mid-South(John Shaw), Duane Dieter, Larry Vickers, Chris Kyle(US Navy SEAL), Don Shipley(retired US Navy SEAL), Jeff Gonzales, Richard NMI Marcinko(US Navy SEAL, CO-founder of SEAL Team-06) www.dickmarcinko.com .
Some of these use of force or combat tactics instructors may be booked up or only teaching sworn LE/special ops at this time but they may have contacts or resources in your area. All the best; CF |
