Will it fit?

Hey guys, I'm new here but already this forum has answered some questions I have had. However, I recently joined to ask one of my own. I just ordered a remmington 700 sps Tactical and I'm planning on buying this scope

http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-mo...flescopes.html

Nikon sells 4 different combo packages for this scope however I'm stuck on this one that includes the sunshade tube, but will need rings to mount onto the base which is in another option for this scope.. They include "Burris Xtreme Tactical 1 Inch Riflescope Ring Pair, Extra High 1in". My question is are these the rings I want?? I would be ordering them separately since they don't come in the combo. Do I want extra high rings?? I've read that people recommend the medium or low rings but will that be a clearance issue with this scope? Sorry for all the questions, this may be difficult to answer unless you know the dimensions or have the same gun/scope..

Thank you in advance!

The hight of the mounts depends on how fat the scope is. A 50mm objective will need at least medium mounts and possibly high ones.

So if the supplier recommends high mounts, it doesn't seem out of order.

Thanks for the feedback.. I just got off the phone with someone at opticsplanet and he said they recommend the high rings because it's based on an AR platform.. So I'm not quite sure what to do.. = /

See this chart... and know that Burris measures rings from the ring base to the bottom of the scope tube rather than the centerline.

So... say your objective bell measures 2.125"... using the chart, you need at least .563" from your receiver to the bottom of the scope 1" tube. Even if you include the height of the bases (about .250"), it still comes in under 1"... so the "Burris Xtreme Tactical 1 Inch Riflescope Ring Pair, Extra High 1in" is, in a word, excessive.

Remington 700 with a one piece 20moa Picatinny base, 50mm Objective Optic and 30mm tube using 0.87" high rings. The base is from US Optics, the rings are from Seekins. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the fast replies guys! I was leaning towards this option http://www.riflescopes.webyshops.com...cle-Matte-8495 which already comes with a 1pc mount that attaches to the base ill be getting:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/162...t-action-matte

This scope is 42mm but they consider this setup an AR platform.. I cant tell if this 1pc mount will be too high? I know I want the scope as close to the gun as possible but this might just have to do.. I cant find measurements on the mount thats included though..Think this setup will work fine? I'll be shooting mostly from 100 to 600 yards with the occasion of 800 Yds.

If you want to be able to zero at 100 yards, and at 600 or 800 yards, you want a scope with more internal adjustment than the NIkon.
Burris XT rings are tall. For a heavy barrel rifle and a 50mm scope, the mediums should be plenty.
The 1 piece ar mounts are too tall on a bolt.

Unless there is a reason you want "tactical" (read: overpriced for most people) rings, Leupold makes a one piece LR base with 15 elevation MOA built in for under $30.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/435...ngs-matte-high

If the rings are too short, you can pick them up at pretty much any sporting goods store.

My LR Rig has worn that setup for about 12 years, with never a problem.
