Beretta 92FS Price

My local sporting goods store has Beretta 92 FS pistols on sale for $429.99. Is this an average/good/great price? Thanks.

Beretta 92fs

If that's a new gun it's a excellent price, brand new they usually run around 500, sometimes more, I actually paid more than that for mine, but that was a while back, I think they must have come down. I've never understood why the Beretta's sell so cheap, in my opinion they're one of the finest pistols on the market if not the best. I own several pistols and the Beretta is my favorite hands down. If you choose to buy it you won't be disappointed, good luck..

If the pistols are new, that's a good price. If you like it, buy it!

Thanks for the advice. I just returned from the store after purchasing it! I've never owned a Beretta pistol before so I hope it works out for me. The store has 50 in stock (brand new) but this version of the 92FS is the "Police Special". Anybody heard of this model? I asked the clerk (a retired sheriff's deputy whom I know well and who is very knowledgeable concerning firearms) what the difference is and he advised that the Police Special has a different kind of matte finish. This (being less "polished") may account for the lower price. I don't know but the pistol appears to be very well put together and it still seems worth the price. It does come with three fifteen round factory magazines. I don't know if Beretta routinely supplies 3 mags with their pistols or not.

They do not have a different finish on them. They are a standard 92 with a shield that has PS on it in a different box. That's it. Oh, and they come with 3 mags.

Is it a Made In Italy gun or Made in USA one?

I'm assuming by FS you mean the matte black finish with the slide safety block Military Version and not the stainless.

Prices get even lower. I was surprised visiting the big stores who also were near/or are distributors and get them at a good price.

You did OK if it is Italian.

Enjoy it.

Sounds like a good deal to me. You certainly can't go wrong at that price for an excellent firearm.

I bought a PS years ago. Came in a cardboard box with a blue sleeve and three magazines. It was about $75 cheaper at the time than commercial packaged guns with two mags.

Beretta 92FS

Anyone know why there is about a 100.00 difference in price on the Beretta92FS? Looked at the ones listed on GunPro and identical looking ones are 497.00 and others are 603.00? They are the plain jane ones no rails etc???

Thats an excellent price. I just bought one several months back from buds and it was $469, which was a great deal too. Then PSA had them on sale for $449. Looks like you grabbed it, great choice as its an awesome pistol.

And yea, I have seen places selling them for around $600. The cheapest price I could find them at my LGSs was $589 and several were well over $600.

Decent guns but nowhere near as combat effective tactical as a POLY STRIKER 9 such as the GLOCK or SIG. The general rule of thumb today is that for a pistol to be non obsolete it has to be made from recycled porta potties and go "Sproing!" when you pull the trigger.

All joshing aside, I like the Beretta 92. Many look down on them due to the large size and slide mounted safety, plus the reliability problems with the M9 from hard military service.

I paid $429.99 for my new Model 92FS in December of 2007-the same year I started this thread.

So OP, a decade later, can you give us your thoughts on the gun you bought? Did you like it? Do you still have it? Has it had any problems?

It seems that the price on these has stayed level.
I just bought a 92FS (black one below) on GB shipped for $450 nib.
Also just picked up a M9A3.
I think they are great guns. Trigger pull is sweet. Not recommended for carry, as they are not light weight. I bought mine for the range.

Still have it, still like it and it's been flawless. I can't say it's my favorite pistol of all the many nice handguns I own but it might be the one I'd choose if I could only have one. Might be...

Couple of things.

Beretta is sending to me on the internet
daily deals on their stuff; no not the guns themselves.

But since the presidential election with a lot
of gun sales tanking and Beretta losing the
military contract, the market is probably
pretty soft for Berettta.

I think even in the world of plastic fantastics,
the market is getting very mushy.

The entire gun market is soft. Quality entry level AR15s are $450. Just about every gun manufacturer has a rebate deal going on right now. There are rebates on ammo. Stuff it not moving so it has to be discounted. It is an excellent time to buy NIB stuff.

I'd gladly pay $429.99... I recently paid almost $650 for one brand new in my own high tax state.
