XS big dot sights
I am considering a set of XS big dot sights for my glock 19. I have heard good things about them ( fast taget acquisitiion, good defensive sights) and I would be on my main carry gun. Just wondering what peoples opinions/experiences are of them.

I did it on a Glock 22. No trouble, no regrets. Outstanding sights.
Superb for low light and personal protection, not the best for target shooting other than very close range. |

I put a set on a Colt that I had redone a couple of years ago. I was sceptical at first because I'd heard that the sights sometimes presented varied learning curves to operators.
I use the gun strictly as a SD weapon in the nightstand. You are right about the quick target acquisitiion and I've found that they really do a good job in the low light conditions that you'd expect to find where I keep the gun. I had very little difficulty in getting aclimated to the XS system. They aren't target sights but... Bottom line-I like them for what I got them for. Here's a picture of them installed on the Colt I had redone: Last edited by skimbell; April 22, 2013 at 10:23 AM. |

Great for a fast sight picture when under stress. But like SCS not good for target practice at any distance.

Fast, but very imprecise sight picture. My 1.5" at 15 yd 45 was shooting 3.5" at 15 yds. Ok for combat, but very imprecise for accuracy shooting.

XS big dot sights
Exactly the same situation for me. It's only on a defensive gun for me. I acquired the gun preowned and didn't bother to change the sights. It's nice for fast acquisition but it won't win at precision shooting.

I researched them extensively. I went with the best of both worlds instead fo crippling myself for long distance.
