Help with a 9mm LRN load

I am having trouble finding any data on 231 or bullseye loads for a 115gr LRN.
124gr & 147gr every where I look. But no 115gr!

If I do find anything for 115gr, its for FMJ or JHP!

Any help would be great!

These loads should be safe enough for 115 gr. as well. However I urge you to find corroborating independent sources, as I always try to do. Anything you find for 124 gr. lead should be fine too.

Thanks for the replies guys! I went with the 4.0 of 231 load. I was thinking along the same lines as what spacecoast said with the lighter 115 gr being safe to load with the 124 gr recipe. I was trying to achieve a velocity of 1120 fps. With out a chrono, I was needing the load data to verify. This will do just fine though. Above all it is safe! Thanks again for the help!

Understand though you may get excessive leading going that fast. Fire a few, see what it does to your barrel.

You can always use load data that is published for a slightly heavier bullet than the bullet you intend to use. You cannot safely do the opposite.

If you searched high and low for load data and found plenty of it for a 125gr LRN, you could use that data for your 115gr LRN and have a little safety buffer in there.

Going off the heavier bullet load I went with 4.0 of 231.
Now I am having a problem with the rounds loading properly.
Some stove pipes & some full ejections with a failure to load the next round.
In about 75 rds yesterday, about 10 failed to cycle properly.
I am shooting a SW9VE that run 150 rounds of factory ammo flawlessly today in a USPSA competition. In fact, is hasn't had one problem with about 1000 rounds. So I'm pretty sure it isn't the gun.
That being said, the 1000 rounds were all FMJ & JHPs!
I plan to try another cast bullet load in the next couple of day to see if it just doesn't like LRN.

Is this a "week" load problem?
It seems like it isn't sending the slide back enough to perform correctly!

What I gave you is from my compilation of all the reloading manuals that I have had since about 1976. Please note the various start and max loads. I start at the low start and work up.

You may have to CALL them on Tuesday if they don't have any data there. Their techs are good about having data that isn't published.

Educate me a bit here.
What is the difference between the L-RN & LRN?
Is it kind of like FMJ & TMC? Just 2 ways of saying the same thing.


Going by this data, I am going to assume my problems are from light loads.
I will make an adjustment & try again!

These loads were an OAL of 1.1, does any body believe this could be contributing to the problems?
They do not cause a problem in the mag.
