Glock G40 10mm and Unique
Thought I would share my Unique load data for the day.
I already knew I like to plink with unique, but my shot groups seem to be larger than with Bue Dot. Even with a rest at 25 yards my groups were very random and about 8" around where my luck with Blue Dot was about 5" and more concentrated. Glock G40 10mm Bullet - Speer TMJ 155 grain Primer CCI-300 Powder - Unique Charge Avg fps 6.0 gr 1035 7.5 gr 1230 Speer estimated at 1091 7.7 gr 1250 7.9 gr 1279 my new limit 8.1 gr 1307 8.3 gr 1319 8.5 gr 1335 max load from Speer estimated at 1246 I hear about all of the people getting 1400 fps out of this gun and believe them. I had no serious pressure signs and recoil was pretty manageable. These numbers were for record keeping. For this gun I am going to keep it under 1300, hence the 7.9 grain limit I will put on this powder going forward. Warning: Do not trust any of this data to be safe. You could die. Cool Steve. Yep. The 10 is simply lots of fun. No doubt about it. I agree with the velocity. There is a reason the original Norma round did 1350. I've found, though my Glock will do more, it's best accuracy has been within the 1250-1300 mark...regardless of bullet weight [for whatever reason].
I wrote it prior, but you can reduce to 5.6 for an outstanding plinking load with Unique and a 180 plated. Have fun! FYI - just at the range today [7 degrees - very cold and the range was empty - wonder why?] |

I was downwind of the muzzle loaders today. Neat guns but stinky. |
