Any chance I can change usernames without changing my "senior member" status and the number of posts I've made?

I don't think so; but George Hill aka Kodiak would know better than me. He changed his screen name and should know whether his Kodiak posts count toward his current alias.

The answer to both questions is "no". The threads that have already been created are credited to your current profile....there's no way to change your name and have it auto change the name in all past threads.

Frontsight, I don't know why you would like to change your user name. But if it is to start using your real name have you considered simply placing your name in a signature line? Status would remain the same but in essense you would no longer be using an alias.

I know this is an 8 year bump up.
Like Frontsight (Steve Smith) I would like to change my username without loosing my join date. Opposite to him though, I'd like to stop using my real name (employment purposes). Any help would be much appreciated.

Oddly enough, before you posted in this thread you (
Presumably) did not show on the radar, now this post put you on the top 6 in Google....just sayin'

Nick = PM me (or any other admin) and I'll be glad to change your name for you.
There was no need to bring up an 8 year old thread to ask that question. However, since you did, it's interesting to note that the info in those early threads is now incorrect. With later versions of vBulletin you can change a name without losing any past posts, status, etc. |
