Great pics. Looks like you did okay even without an elk to show for it.
I live in Kentucky and have been trying to get drawn for a Kentucky elk hunt with no luck yet. Would love to even just get a chance to hunt elk. And yes, Kentucky has an elk population. Actually, its the biggest elk population east of the Mississippi river. I think there were roughly 300 tags drawn this year.

Very beautiful country. I'd love to get lost out there.
Oh, I copied one of your pics and am using it for my Windows desktop. If that's a problem, let me know and I'll delete it. |

Moose can be down right hard to get along with. The poor devil that walks up on a cow and calf or a bull in the brush may be in for a world of pain. The Game & Fish removed one from my Aspen grove behind the house last winter. It was a young bull and he was chasing the kids at the bus stop down the road. A few years back a couple of kids were hurt down there by a cow Moose.
We have a number of the critters here in SW Wyoming in the Bear River Valley. |

I went hunting four times before I finally took a nice cow elk. Didn't see anything but cows during prior rifle seasons and then finally went to CO for black powder and cashed in. Also saw about a dozen nice bulls that time, but no tag. Just being in the Mountains is a good time. I walked within a 100 yards of a Mt Lion by accident and didn't have a camera, I was happy it took off.
GREAT PHOTOS...... I actually hunted off Carter Mt myself. We stayed at the hotel in Kremmling, CO. Seems like it was area 82??? |
