Makarov in SSP?

I know the official answer is "no." However, many clubs do allow them, and many people use them for carry. IDPA is still fairly small and young, so it might be possible to get them on board. Here are my arguments for doing so:

1) Power factor with Brown Bear 115 gr ammo is 117k. This is the only formal IDPA requirement the Mak doesn't meet, but comes pretty close with some ammunition (it's 110k with Wolf 109 gr).
2) Mak doesn't really belong with other backup weapons. There's no way a typical 5 or 6 round backup gun, say Kel-Tec P3 can compete with the Mak.
3) Mak is a post-WW2 military and police service pistol.
4) Shouldn't we compete with the guns we carry? IDPA stresses practicality over equipment race.

I guess they had the draw the line somewhere. .32s were also common military/police guns.
