I can reload a box of 9mm for about $3.90, not counting tax. That's somewhere around half what a cheap box of factory ammo costs. So yes, it's worth it.

I can reload good JHP's for cheaper than factory ammo and in weights/sizes I and my pistols like.

I like Hodgdon TiteGroup in 9mm - and all my pistol calibers.

Gus... I show my costs on 9mm reloads at about $ 4.25 a box these days - so there is still a savings over $ 7 - $8 a box / and I think you can get a better more consistent round by reloading vs anything you can buy at $ 7 or $ 8 a box.

I use Hodgon Clays in both my .45 acp and 9mm. I have no issues. Occasionally I use some Red Dot as well.

It's worth it to me to load 9mm. I can load 100 rounds for around $7.50. Not only is it cheaper but it's better that the cheap stuf. I shoot a lot of 9mm because it's my competition gun. I like HS-6 and Titegroup powders. I have been hearing a lot of good things about WSF and am going to try some of it soon.

The best powder I have found for all weight bullets is Herco. It doesn't give me the maximum velocity nor is it always the most accurate for a specific bullet, but it is always good and doesn't seem that sensitive to pressure variations like some powders.
Blue Dot is very good. With light bullets (less than 115gn), a compressed charge gives great accuracy and I have never seen any over pressure signs with loads that were once shown as max.
The other powder that is great across all bullet weights, and sometimes produces the highest velocity or the best accuracy (though I haven't seen both in a single load) is Power Pistol. For those who like "clean" powders, Power Pistol may be the best.

Antipidas, I to would like to know where you can get 500 FMJ 125g for $30? Also where do you get 1000 Primers for $19?

Rarely do I see anything EXACTLY like I have or do, but in this case - I have. Daughter bought a 9000s - "I like it 'cause it's a sexy gun." Not my choice of a reason to buy a gun, but you gotta know her!

And, if you read many of my posts, you know I'm an Alliant guy from the Hercules days - so, I'm loading for the family - the 124 JHP Montana Gold over 5.1 grains of Unique with a small pistol primer.

Never had a problem, shoots good groups, I haven't noticed a problem with dirt more than factory loads, and it is cheaper than I can buy any other factory loaded jacketed hollow point round. (plus, "it's a sexy bullet!")

Math: 9 cents for the bullet, one for the powder (1370 rounds per pound of Unique), and 3 cents for the primer (a fellow quoted 19 dollars per 1000 of primers - I haven't seen that price is ages here!). Let's see, that makes it $ 13.00 a hundred! Assuming you pick up the range brass!

You can buy factory - JHP loads even CLOSE to that? Where? Please tell me, 'cause I'll start buying and not worry about the scarcity of components!

It just doesn't get any better/cleaper than this!

I use IMR-4756. It is impossible to double-charge the 9mm case as the powder volume is too great. Even when you get to the upper end of the load scale (around 6.4 grains or so), you are having to compress the powder, so for safety, I find it to be very good. In addition, I can also use it in 380 auto, .38 special, and 45 LC, so it is a great all around pistol powder for me.

I guess it was wishful thinking! I think $24.95 for a 1000 SP primers is great these days! I only got that deal once so far! Most of the time it's cost me $28 per 1k and I am buying Montana Gold for 9 mm and .40 which is at a pretty good price. I do buy Hornady XTP's for my .380 and 9 mm from time to time when they are on sale but, they are still "expensive" compared to MG's.
