Assuming you are talking about the .40 S&W look here:

http://www.reloadbench.com/cartp.html

It's a better site for reloaders, too.

Can't imagine trimming straightwall handgun ammo. What makes you think you should trim your .40 brass?

You need to trim straight-wall revolver ammo to a uniform length so you can roll crimp. (Tube feed rifles, as well.)

For me, I just like to square up the mouth, and bevel the edges a bit.

I don't trim .45 ACP cases, because I think most people lose them before they grow.

The .40 SW round might be of sufficient pressure as to stretch brass more than a .45 ACP.

Hadn't thought of revolvers' shooting .40 Sheitz und Weazel. Ya think the OP's shooting .40 through a revolver?

Well, you have to learn it if you have a SW 610.

But even for daily plinking, I like a taper crimp with uniform brass.

Semi auto brass actually gets shorter with each loading. It is shortened only a micro bit each time, but after many lodings the resulting shortening is very evident.
