Timed out?

I just came back to the computer after a few minutes off the keyboard, to find that I was no longer signed in. Is this a normal practice on this forum?

Yes, in fact it's fairly normal on most forums. You are autologged off after 20 minutes with no activity. However, there's a way to prevent the interruption - always check off the "Remember me" box when you login. You will still be autologged off, but when you come back, you will also be autologged back in so you won't even notice it except for a slight delay. (This is assuming you are allowing a TFL cookie on your system.)
