Action Pistol - Cheap
At the club, I watched an action pistol comp and am planning on competiting next month. There were all makes of guns. I have a Kimber Compact, but am thinking of something with less recoil and more capacity.
Some Ideas CZ75 SA - approx $350 , great gun, trigger, 10 rounds, low recoil CZ97 - approc $450 - I reload 45acp and this guns weight and capacity help with recoil, wonder about popularity and parts/magazine availablity Auto Ordinance (Kahr)- Approx $400 - stay with 1911. Fullsize mags fit in the Kimber, reload 45. Price! I really like the WWII but might opt for the standard for drop-in parts... Mags and parts everywhere. Thanks, tjg |

Of the 3 choices you have provided & being a fan of the 45 acp, I would go w/ the CZ 97. From my experience it's a nice handgun.

How about a Springfield Mil-spec or a Hi-power?

The Kimber will serve you just fine, but make sure you have at least five magazines for it. At the action pistol events that I have seen, most of the shooters are using Kimbers or Springfields.
Start with the gun that you own, and only move on if you find that it is keeping you from improving.
