Got my 308 lapua brass the other day, and worked up a load with 41 gr surplus 4895, topped with a 168 SMK. Friday at the range, I got three, 3 shot groups less than .4", with the best being .265! Not too shabby for the Rem 700!

What's the next hill to challenge?

The next hill is shooting five shot groups.

Report back here immediately with the results! ...

IIRC, the US military's statistical studies of group size predicts something like a 30 percent "growth" going from 3- to 5-round groups.

Group Scoring

Cheapo, FWIW, I take my 3 shot scores and multiply by 5/3, to result in a "normalized" 5 shot score.

Using your method (x1.3) would decrease the calculated group size, compared to my method - I like it!

Have you got a pointer to this mil data?

Thanks
Dave

PS I also need to now concentrate on my scores at 200 yrds, to see if the same round is the best at that distance also!
