British-proofed Colt 1903 Pocket Model Pistol
Here for your perusal are photos of my well-used British-proofed Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammer Automatic Pistol number 36253 chammbered in .38 ACP. It was 1 of 100 shipped to the London Armoury Company on April 13, 1915. The London commercial proof and view marks are visible on the barrel and left side of frame. The "JJ" initials are visible below the trigger guard. The "JJ" may be the initials of James Joesph Goodbody, the then managing director of Colt's London Agency, or they may be the initials of an official at Enfield Lock facility (per Joe Poyer's Model 1911 book). This pistol was probably a British officer's private purchase and looks like it saw hard service in WWI and maybe WWII. I have shot the pistol a few times and it performs flawlessly.

Needless to say (but I will anyway), use of .38 Super or equivalent loads is a no-no in all those double link pistols.

Looks in pretty good shape to me, considering its age. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for comments. Grips are probably replacements since most of these pistols were sold with the hard rubber grips. Yes, I only shoot .38ACP ammo since the Super .38 is much too powerful for these early Colt Autos.
