Excellent !! Chestnuts and acorns give pigs a very fine flavor.
Chestnuts + pork [as in crown roast of pork with a chestnut stuffing] make a fine meal also. Enjoy !!!

Yes, nice boar.
It looks like a true Russian, not like ours which are (mostly) domestic hogs gone feral.

Is it true that hunting & the desire to eat wild game is very strong in France.....maybe more so than in the US?

If I remember correctly it seems that a lot of Brittish hunters have taken to going to France ( And Spain? ) because English game laws have become so restrictive?

Yummy.

Did you use the dog to hunt? What time of day do you hunt? Do you wait in a blind or actively hunt?

Depends on where you go in France.

In the south, there are quite a few hunters. Around where I lived for 12 years (Paris), not so much. In fact, I don't remember meeting anyone around Paris who actually owned a firearm, much less went hunting. My father knew someone in the countryside who owned a carbine to shoot birds, but that was the extent of my experience with people with firearms ownership in France (that I knew of).

That is a fine boar!

Down here in Florida, there is a new hunt club that stocks true Russian boar. I don't currently have the funds for a hunt, but would love to have a go at one.
