Someone said I should ask this here: Questions About A Suppressed .45 ACP

So: do to the diameter of the .45 ACP bullet itself, I hear that the decibel suppression of a .45 ACP isn't that great. My question is to whether or not the recoil jump of the handgun would be noticeably reduced? Can anyone help me out?

No, not really noticeably reduced. The weight of the can on the end of the firearm will keep it down some, but you'll still know you're shooting a .45!

Thanks . . . I pretty much figured that was the case.

You can reduce the realistic noise of a .45ACP considerably with good internals on a can. The crap you see in the movies about silenced weapons is just that - crap. Not realistic in anything remotely close to the real world, but you can make a .45 awfully quiet with a good designed and well made can.

Yeah, although not 'hollywood quiet'...a suppressed .45 (especially when the suppressor is wet) does make it much more quiet. Even more so than reducing the sound, the suppressor makes the report of the shot sound much more like an air nailer or paintball gun than a gun shot.
