Source for 7-10 BHN .44 bullets?
In these days of everyone wanting Hard-Cast bullets with BHNs of 12-18, I'm having a hard time finding "average" (7-9 BHN) cast bullets for my .44 Spcl/Mag.
Can anyone recommend a source? I'd prefer 200-240 gr stuff (nearly anything, but a wadcutter), but anything from 180-300 gr could be helpful. I'm not planning on pushing these super fast. So, leading shouldn't be an issue. I just want a bullet that will still expand at mediocre velocities.

Why not just run Hornady swaged bullets? I've never had any trouble with them in target loads.
Otherwise, cast your own. 20:1 lead:tin should be in that ballpark. That's what Elmer Keith used until he went to 16:1 for the .44 Magnum development. I take that part way back. The Lyman handbook says 20:1 is BHN 10. It puts wheel weights that aren't heat treated at BHN 9. It puts 40:1 lead:tin at BHN 8.5.

We can do them up for you
Not a problem, just need an order of a thousand or better to make it possible to get the proportions right.

Thanks for the replies. I keep an eye on this thread for more responses, but don't expect it to stay active long. I'll see what Missouri Bullet Co. can do for me, and go from there.
