I've never heard of a 20 inch barrel on an AK, I cant say it wouldn't be an interesting looking gun but I would foresee a need for a longer gas tube and hand guard. every barrel I've ever seen is 16 inches. unless you live in an area with a weapons ban a muzzle brake should be fine.

as far as 922R compliant parts goes the minimum required amount of US made parts is 6 so just with the tapco trigger and furniture that most manufacturers throw in their AKs 922R is satisfied.

Try better AMMO first, Yugoslavian ( corrosive) or Golden Tiger.

Then try a better sight system, or get a scope mount put on.

Last thing you can do is pull a barrel without major rebuild issues on an AK.

And YES the "NM" versions of Norinco came in with a 20" barrel back in the day, they are no more accurate in general than 16"...it's all "luck of the draw."

You could get the Romanian M-10 form Centerfiresystems.com if you want an acurate AK with a scope mount already compliant.

I don't see how adding a longer barrel will improve accuracy.

In theory, you'll get a little more velocity, which equates to less bullet drop at longer distances, but ultimate accuracy won't be affected much.
