A sort of "rebirth" of the venerable Walther WA-2000??
Fellow Forum members!
I was on an impromptu visit to my favorite local gun shop/surplus store and came across a 55-gallon plastic barrel filled with Mauser 98 barreled actions, just missing bolts. I never cared much about matching numbers on pet projects, so I picked the best looking one and went and chose a bolt that fit and locked closed. I planned on picking up another one of those 45 ACP kits from a firm called Rhineland Arms. They make this awesome kit to convert a 98 to fire 45 ACP with just a little bit of modification to the rifle. Anyways, not what I am writing this post about. This post is about something I stumbled across while browsing their site. Their product, the "R2000"! It is a 21st century rebirth of the WA-2000. It's not a true descendant, as the guts are AR parts, and I think the mag is loaded in front of the trigger group, unlike the original being a bullpup. But all that nitpicking aside... I am legitimately still drooling to this day! I am seriously considering putting my name on the pre-order list. They are asking MSRP of $825. Hard to pass up. |
