Hog Hunt Prep: Caliber Wars 460 Magnum Versus?
Trying to decide what I want to use for an up and coming hog hunt. This will be shot from a blind down into a valley. Guided tour.
I have access to 500S&W and 460Magnum as I really want this to be a handgun hunt. I reloaded up some of Matt's Hard Cast 280gr Even though they are Gas Checked I did not push them to hard I do not think I go great accuracy because these did not have a crimping grove. This is my fault I should have paid attention when they were ordered and instead got the 315gr with double crimp groove. I will have a pair of shooting sticks to shoot from. Yes I need more practice for sure. My first go at it with the 460Magnum across the chronograph https://youtu.be/JsPLrtrhYCY Next up will be the 500Magnum then depending on the results and my comfort level I will pick one and practice with before leaving. Which one do you like?

All I can say is, those are some hand cannons! Take both switch out, and enjoy the hunt.

You might just scare a pig to death, or at least have it faint long enough to use your K-BAR.

Hey, devil dog! Having shot a hog or two in my time, I will say either will do the deed. Personally, I'd shoot the lighter recoiling of the two, hogs are not Godzilla. Either revolver will be overkill.
