Scope for CZ 527 .223 Varmint
I finally made my purchase of a Varmint .223 in the CZ 527. Now I have 10 days to find a scope, rings and ammo.
This gun will be used as a carry gun in the field or over the hood of my SUV for Coyote and Squirrel at various distances. Here are the 2 scopes I am looking at: Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40mm $235 (Bear Basin) Simmons 44 mag 4-12x42mm $90 (Natchezss) I think that this is a good power range for my type of shooting. The recoil should be light but can the Simmons take it??? I could step up to the Elite 4200 4-16x40mm $322. Not sure if it is worth the extra $$$. Thanks in advance!!! |

Weaver V-16
You'll get a clear picture at distances... but also get a crisp clear view at closer targets without effort.
At $250. (+-) it can not be beat. The 44 mag is not "bad" considering you'll be dragging it around for hours at a time. It will be scuffed at least... and if you slip and fall, and the darn thing gets damaged, the $90. loss won't be ap painful as your butt pain. Regards and GL, Stocky ps. Also check out the Swift line.... on the whole much sharper then the Simmons, but not as expensive as the Weaver or Bushy. The best bang for your buck in todays scope market. |
