I'm going to bring this TTT, To The Top, again to give new people a chance to maybe get a few bullets to try out. The conditions are the same, just reimburse me for the postage.

Helpin out
I`ll help out a little , I have a bunch of lee& lyman 38/357 molds .
I have a 358156hp that`s had the GC removed. The obsolete 357446 swc ( works good above 1,000fps) The lee 158 rnfp that shoots beatifully in all the 38/357 I own . A lee 150 gr. 30/30 mold & a lyman 314299 is all the rifle I have at the moment. 44 I have 429421 429215 that`s had the GC removed lee 310 gr sledge hammer. Most of these I have cast in a semi soft isotope alloy that is 10.5 bhn. I usually don`t lube until I`m ready to load. Sorry no tumble lubes .

I'll get to work on some new pics, as soon as I get the garden planted, AND I figure out how to run my new DSLR Canon rebel T2i. I have several new molds for boolits,,--oops bullets, more than what's listed in the other thread;

Just trying out the new camera! Here's a few of the most recent molds I've bought.
Anyway, posts #10 and 14 on this thread are what I make. I missed a couple on this photo session, I just gotta clean the reloading room! http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=371328

Whatcha got there Snuffy? Lets see how close I can get... L to R...
Looks like an 8mm, a .284/7mm (could be a .30, just looks a tad small if the first is in fact a .324 something), a heavy .45, a heavy .44, a .30 cal, a .40 cal, and a 9mm? Don't ask me the mold numbers, I could probably get closer by banging my head on the keyboard a couple times...

For people that shoot jacketed and cast bullets, it is a quick way to differentiate that you are shooting a cast boolit. Bullets wear jackets.
They frown on the terms use here at TFL and probably rightly so because it's use could contribute to the slack jawed yokel sterotype. I think it's hilarious term and boolit is good shorthand for cast bullet, but when in Rome... |

thanks
bullets were used for centuries without jackets, in fact jacketed bullets are a relatively recent (in historical terms) phenomenon

Renfield, go here to see why that term/misspelling is used.
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/index.php Here's the reasoning behind it by the originator of the spelling. From 45nut, owner of cast boolits. Quote:

Snuffy
Have you tried the 300gr Lee 44 and 45 yet? They sure look wicked. I'm thinking of ordering them both shortly for myself. And the matching 357. Should be a heck of a hunting boolit. |

I shoot that heavy gc'ed 45 in my T/C 454 Casull. It has some SERIOUS energy when pushed to 1800 FPS! Mine come out at 315 grns lubed and checked.

Lee 310 gr
Anybody got a clue what a Lee 310gr would cast if you were to drill out the gascheck to a plainbase bullet?

In my particular molds, the 44 casts at 305gr w/o gas check or lube. the 45 casts at 308gr w/o gas check or lube. Thats straight WW alloy. I'm guessing it would add about 3 gr or maybe 4 gr after drilling. |

Apologies if this has already been mentioned.
Maybe you boolit casters could form a sort of co-op. Everybody list what moulds you have. If somebody wants to try out a few boolits before buying the mould just send the right fella a pm and pay shipping.

458W, the heaviest .357 I have is a 168 Lyman mold, it's a keith SWC. If you'd want to try some, send me a PM with your snail mail addy, I'm sure I have some sized to .358 and ready to go. They drop @ 170+ and sized a bit more, maybe 171.

I've got a 180 grain Ranch Dog mold for the .35 Remington, but I've never used it in that cartridge, preferring to use it in the .357 magnum. Pushed to 1190 in my Model 28, that same load moves at 1600 out of my Marlin 1894C. It's a great fun bullet with plenty of energy. |
