New Holster

I just got a new western holster from a guy in Larado TX, it is great but now I need to know is there any speacial way as to break it in...to make my pistol (ruger SBH .44) fit it just right....this rig is TIGHT.

In the old days, you'd soak your holster in water. Then you'd grease up your gun and wrap it tighly in plastic. The gun was introduced into the holster and the holster molded to fit the gun. The holster was allowed to dry before the gun was removed (then the gun was unwrapped, cleaned and inspected for rust). Afterwards, the holster should fit the gun like a glove. Got this from Bill Jordan's "No Second Place Winner."

If You Want To Break In Your Holster The Water Thing Does Work Good But Another Way Is To Put Your Gun In The Holster And Run The Entire Holster(front&back)with Virgin Olive Oil A Few Times After Each Application Soaks In And Then Let Set A Day Or Two.the Olive Oil Will Soften The Leather Making A Perfect Fit And Will Not Rub Off At All On Your Cloths.
