NC Handgun Question

I'm looking to purchase a handgun online which will require shipping to an FFL. A new coworker of mine has a family business with their FFL. Am I required to get a handgun permit from my local sheriffs department in order to pick it up from the FFL, or do I just need to pass their background check?

Thank you!!

You need a CCW (valid one) or a valid pistol purchase permit. Pistol Purchase Permits are good for one purchase. CCW's are good until the CCW runs out for unlimited purchases. My county has a website set up and you can pay online and print it off. You can also go to your county sheriff dept. and pay a small fee and pick up your permit. Usually 5 dollar with a 1 dollar service charge.

Good luck!
