Buying ammo
I might have to opportunity to buy a friends rifle but it fires a 9mm.
But because I am under 21 and in Minnesota I can not buy handgun ammo. Is it possible for my parents to buy it (they have no handgun permit) and for them to give me the ammo? Can I posses the ammo legally? |

Page 155 of the 2005 Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide:
http://www.atf.gov/pub/fire-explo_pu...004/p53004.pdf Quote:
2. You can buy ammo for use even in a handgun from a private party or an unlicensed ammo dealer if you are over 18. (Remember, dealers in ammo only do not require a license to sell - only to manufacture). 3. Your parents can buy any ammo for you from a licensed dealer so long as they do not make any false oral or written statements to the licensed dealer regarding the ammo purchase. If they make a false oral or written statement to a licensed dealer regarding the ammo purchase, they will violate Federal law. |

Maybe taking a couple of pictures of yourself with the rifle & some 9mm rounds would help with convincing the clerk, if that is your concern.
