When I had a Contender with a 22 Hornet barrel, I would take a 22 pellet turn backwards, put a new primer into it and have fun. You had to be careful as these could be deadly at 10 yards or so.

I'm not sure of the safety of shooting foam ear plugs over a primer. What happens if one of the plugs start to smolder and it bounces unseen onto the sofa or it land in a corner and it igninites the rug? Semper Fi. Gunnery sergeant Clifford L. Hughes USMC Retired |

12 gauge shells reloaded with hotdogs, dang they hurt when you get into a "major hotdog war" with 5 other kids, local sheriff wasn't happy, he had a report about a massacre in our neighbors cornfield.

Sorry, but we've all done it at one time or another. Maybe not you. Oh, and the answer to your question? The house burns down. Steve W.

A small rifle primer will launch 45 grain .32 caliber round balls out of .32 S&W Long cases at 300-400 fps (from 2" and 5.5" barrels).
Low velocity round balls have significant ricochet potential.

Thought we were all grown mature adults here - earplugs? hotdogs?? What would mother say? By the way, broken up auto safety glass will penetrate shallow water easily -- the Carp never had a chance!!

dumb tricks
These are awesome acts of stupidity. The best we used to do was to bite the lead off (or if you have pliers available use them). Collect all powder for future stupidity ventures, then put the 22 case on the end of a comb or whatever it will fit over, heat it up with a bic lighter or whatever, continually pointing it where you want it to go. Takes about 3-5 secs for it to go off. Orrrrr, you can just throw a handful of them in to a fire and watch the reactions when they start to go off.

OP,1147:FWIW,are you shooting the earplugs out of a 1911?Does the round feed up from a mag,or are you dropping them in the chamber, then dropping the slide?
Dropping the slide on a round in the chamber forces the extractor to to bend in a way it was not intended to bend.I suggest you not do that, and I suggest you now check your extractor tension |
