38 Super and 9MM
Ok,
Me and a friend mine just lucked into a lot of 38 Super bullets (At least one case of over 3400). I don't remember the size of them, they're stored at his house. Now he seems to think that we will be able to use to reload 9MM. One of our friends says yes. But I'm not convinced what say you all? The main reason were asking is neither one of have a 38 super weapon. But then again its a good excuse to go get one... hmm Dave |

If they're .356 jacketed bullets they'll work in some.I've tried them in my cz's.They work better in Ruger's sa revolvers that shoot 38/357 with the 9mm cylinder conversion.
Some books suggest not using .356 jacketed due to chambering problems, although lead bullet diameters are the same. You'll have to reset the crimp die for the larger diameter. |

I have run them with no problems at all, even in VERY tight match chambers.

They'll work fine. If you have any chambering problems, use a Factory Crimp Die!

Great thanks for the info. I feel a lot better now.
So my next question how long do you think it will take to go through 91 lbs of W-W 540 smokeless powder? When we got 38 super founds it came with 9 8lb canisters and 9 1lb canisters. After I got home I wonder what some LE officer would have thought if I had got pulled over. Dave |

WW-540 is the same as HS-6. It is a good powder for 9mm, so you have a good load for those bullets.

lucky
I use bullets sized from .354" up to .357" in my 9x19s (but certain lead bullets sized from .358" up to .359" would not chamber well).
91lb of W540 is lucky.
