Turn-around time on a Form 1
I am in "pending" status on a Form 4 transfer since Dec 9th ... I have herad that the Form 4 takes 90 to 120 days
I know that the Form 3 (dealer to dealer) takes about 3 to 4 weeks. Now - does anyone have a recent ball park turn around time for a Form 1 suppressor application? I will be mailing it out the week after Christmas with my check. Thanks in advance for any and all replies. |

From all I've heard lately both F1s and F4s are being processed in about 60-90. Evidently the move of the NFA Branch to WV has helped.

From what I have seen and heard, they are getting quicker. My first Form 1 last year took 150+ days from receipt to received.
My last Form 4 only took 6 weeks. My friends Form 4 also just took 6 weeks. |

Thanks guys -
Boy - sure need the patience of Job with an NFA transfer. ATF sat on my Form 4 for five weeks from the time they received it until it went into "pending" status. I guess the rule of thumb is "Don't be in a hurry" I paid for my suppressor (On a Form 3 with an out-of-state dealer) on 10/3He transferred it, I filed Form 4 and .... it looks as if I will have it around the end of Feb (About 5 months) |
