I wonder how many of you have actually fired over 80% i.e. 16 out of these 20 pistols listed?

Never had the pleasure of firing;
Kimber
Desert Eagle
Makarov
Mauser
Korth

The rest on the list I've either owned or shot over the last 28 years. So I guess that puts me at 75%

add to the mix best caliber? now we are really confused

sig 226 - 9MM
sig 239 - 40 cal
both are excellent, reliable, and fun to shoot. The 239 is a nice carry that offers good control. Get too small and you loose pin point targeting.

best calib?

city=40 Cal or 9mm
country = 357 mag or 44 mag
Africa = 454 casul
hit man = 22 LR ( so I have heard)

only one- I sure like the 40 Cal: confused:

Sorry I don't have experience with the 45 cal. No disrespect.

I dunno - there are a lot of really good pistols available. Personally, I like the Colt Government Model 45 ACP but would be the first to admit, it's not for everyone. It requires some serious commitment to shoot with the correct grip and, in many ways is different - in ways I happen to like.

In the long run, differences of opinion and personal preferences are not only good but keep things affordable and of good quality. If we all liked to drive Yugos, they would have no reason to improve quality and would probably be priced out of range for most of us.

19 of 20 for 95%

I like Glocks and 1911s cuzz they are easy to detail strip and get parts for, put them in yourself.

Thats important if you shoot a lot (cleanin'), cuzz stuff happens (fixin').

I think the Gabbet-Fairfax Mars is indubitably the best auto ever with the Gyrojet running a close second, but neither are listed so I can't vote.

(...and when you say "Mauser (Luger included)", do you mean Mauser Lugers, the Swiss plastic guns sold by SIG under the Mauser name, or the Hungarian-built "Mauser" High Power clones?)

Well overall I love Beretta or HK. But my current BEST single pistol is the one I carry. 1997 Walther P99 9mm. Got it just recently, less than 100 rounds through it until I got it.

"Firepower!",

Out of curiosity, which of the pistols on this list have you handled?

Why is the Stechkin, an NFA weapon of which there are no transferable examples on the Registry, include in the list with the Makarov, a commonly available PPK-derived blowback pocket pistol?

If I'm not prying, how old are you, and which Role-Playing Game book did you copy this list from?

Tamara

The name of the Role Playing is called living in Pakistan!

I am not in US. I grouped Mak and Stichken together because here there is no distinction between the two apart from one is small and does not rapid fire. This is because people simply call Stichken BIG Makarov. Dont ask me why...I guess since they are both acquired from old Soviet Army after Afghan War.

From the list I have handled every pistol except Springfield, Kimber, Para Ord. and Khar, since they are not available in Pakistan. I own all other, but Korth, my friend has it and I fired it at his place. Desert Eagle, I had in 44, but sold it and now looking for one in 50AE, found one, but no bullets available in Pakistan for it!

AS per how old I am, well although a personal question, I am 34.

Anymore questions: I would be glad to answer.

Here is my stichken aps.(sorry I do not know how to put the pic here so it looks better threrefore using attachment method)

Ah. My apologies.

Understand that almost nobody in the U.S. has seen, let alone fired, a Stechkin, since after the Gun Control Act of 1968 fully-automatic weapons were not allowed to be imported for other than law enforcement and military organizations. There are very, very few in the country.

Glock Rocks

I carry G19 in a galco tan jackass rig shoulder holster with 17rd mags in spare. G26 on the ankle holster with hollow points. And I keep 4 31round mags loaded in the car that will go into either of my pieces!

You can not do this with any other gun i.e. Semi compact and compact with all interchangeable mags and 31 rounders when it is go time!

Plus it is the most expensive pistol in Pakistan. 6000 US$ each! And people still buy them over less expensive however reliable other brands.

That said I am now focusing on adding G21 so I have one in 45 that remains in my bedside drawer all the time with live round! And a G34 for my shooting competition with buddies.

Finally, albeit I have Stichken, I want G18 to be permanantly be in my car with those 31 rounder, and possibly 120 rounder on the floor. But to bring in 21 and 34 will probably sell my 2 M4s since I do not need them anymore-its all peace here now and my guards are given AKs. As per 18 I have find one in sensible price range. The only available is demanding 2000000 rupees/62 and whatever the dollar amount it turns out to be.

All other pistols are good. My guards carry Sigs, Colts and Mausers so I trust other pistolsand respect them otherwis wont give to ppl who protecting my property!

However when it comes to my personal choice I chose the most practical pistola after carefull analysis of my needs....and that is GLOCK.

I have many other for collection purpose, but thats a different topic.

For now after Him I trust Glock in my hands!

It's an impossible quest!

I have 9 handguns and I've been very lucky with all of them.

3 rimfires 22LR (Mark II 10", Charger, Neos 6")

3 1911s all 45 (SA TM Long, PT1911, BUL M-5)

2 revolvers 357M and 44M (Taurus 608, Super Redhawk)

1 single shot 44M (Competitor)

If I was "forced" to just keep one, I guess I'd keep one of the 1911s, possibly the PT1911 beging the original size, the other two are 6" and 3".

Out of 515 Responses... Here's How It Breaks Down in Order

Looking at the results in order really surprised me. I'm not a fan, but I would have thought Taurus would have been ranked higher than what it was. Little surprised where Ruger fell too.

Glock 120 23.30%
Sig 76 14.76%
HK 46 8.93%
CZ 44 8.54%
Springfield 40 7.77%
Smith & Wesson 39 7.57%
Colt 35 6.80%
Beretta 24 4.66%
Kimber 20 3.88%
Ruger 17 3.30%
Walther 14 2.72%
Browning (FN) 14 2.72%
Taurus 7 1.36%
Khar 6 1.17%
Makarov 5 0.97%
Para Ord. 3 0.58%
Desert Eagle 2 0.39%
Star 1 0.19%
Mauser (Luger) 1 0.19%
Korth 1 0.19%
