Browning "Light 12"

I just had my '63 Belgium Browning A5 Light 12 professionally cleaned this week...even had the gold trigger replaced. What a beautiful and sweet shooting gun. Any other Browning A5 enthusiasts out there?

My first gun was (and still is) a magnum 20 A5, purchased for the princely sum of $207.95 in 1971. Keeping my eyes open for a matching light 12 from the same era.

Like them as well TahoeDust.

Had two and gave one to my son.

The one I kept I've had for about 30yrs. It doesn't get out of the safe much these days but I still do get it out for a squirrel hunt a couple times a year. Really love the way it shoulders.

YEP!!! I've got 5 Belguims right now. Std 12 and 16, 2 SweetSixteens, and one Light 12. Something about these shotguns just feel right. The Stds I got from each of my grandfathers and they have been heavily used. I've got almost no bluing on the barrels. 1 SweetSixteen was my dads first shotgun in 1959. The Light 12 was given to me by dad on my 21st bday. I picked up the other SweetSixteen at a gunshow a couple years ago. Oh, and all of mine work like champs!

Light 12

I got a Light 12 about 36yrs. ago. It had been run over by a station wagon. Guy
was loading up his rabbit dogs and forgot about his gun. Run over the barrel.
Came to see me about getting barrel. At the time Browning barrel cost about
same as a Rem. 1100. Sold me gun for $50. I was able to save 23 3/4" of
barrel. Put Williams shorty ramp and Rem 700 rear sight on it. I ended up with
best slug gun in the county. Guys were always pestering me to buy it. Still have
it and wouldn't trade it for new one. I never used my 1100 or 870 again for
Deer hunting.
