.223 ammo on gunbroker...really?!?!

This is rediculous. $1 a bullet for basic ammo. I know this has been going on for a while but these prices are stupid and frustrating. Sorry I had to vent for a moment.

I'm sure if no one buys it, the price will go down.

Unfortunately every auction has a bidder. Even the 1000 round federal cases are going for $700+ right now. I have notifications in at multiple websites for the normal $350 price. Keeping fingers crossed.

Crazy! Here in the pacific it's about $1.25 for PMC bronze.

Concur, its almost unbelievable what is going on at GB. Notice most of the ammo has no reserve & starts out at zero. Be sure to check out 22lr & primers prices.

Yep, it's happening. Has been for over a month now. It'll pass.

This is why I reload.....I can crank rounds out in my basement for 20 cents/piece vs paying a dollar/round.

wow $1 for basic .223? A few months ago, I thought paying $22 for a box of 20, .277 win was getting ripped off

You think $1.00 per round for 5.56 ammunition is an outrageous price? While browsing gunbroker this week, I saw CCI Blazer. 22lr ammunition going for $0.10 per round...unbelievable. Case quantities selling for upwards of $500.00 per case, same ammo that I paid $179.00 for last year.

I recently saw a 1,000-rd case of PMC M885 LAP that I bought one of for $319 in October sell for $1,525.00!!!

Its called shell bidding and everyone on gunbroker does it, thats why I NEVER buy there. Its a marketplace for ignorant.

Most everyone there has someone else or them personally with other acxoubts bidding up their items and the dummies thay dont know better snatch the bait and make those last few bids and think theure the winner. Its a scam, unless you have a Buy It Now, youre wasting your time and money!

Well, as always you do need to know what you are buying and what it is worth.

I am shopping for Ruger Single-Action guns right now. I can't decide on .22/.22WMR and 32 H&R Magnum. But I'll narrow it down or simply buy the best deal on whichever comes along first.

But I search, browse, and click watch.

Then I go back and study and apply a more critical eye.

For instance I am in the market for the new Ruger Shopkeeper as a possible. I know the MSRP and I have seen other sites with a buy now that is lower then the MSRP. Therefore I will not get taken in the bidding and I will also have my LGS see what they can do for me. If my LGS is even close I will go with them just to keep them in business as they are the ones who help when others can't.

Has anyone seen ammo on line at all? Did they stop manufacturing it? I can't believe you can't occasionally find it on line before it's sold out. It's like nobody's making any more. Are the distributors keeping it so they can auction it off and keep the demand so critical they can rake it in at the sport's expense. I'm sure the ranges are feeling it by now.

You can find ammo...I just found 50 round boxes of 9mm for 13.99 this morning. While not a great price compared to what we were paying a few months ago, its great now. You just have to keep checking the sites a few times a day before they sell out.
