Remington 541s custom sporter

Its a 22 cal bolt action. Remington, Winchester, other CCI's are no problem, but CCI stingers will not chamber in it because the case is a little longer. Would that mean the chamber is that exact ? It is an extremely accurate rifle.

Yes, the 541 chambers are very tight. The reason Stingers are hard to chamber is as you are chambering Stingers, you are trying to force the bullet into the rifling. I never liked Stingers in my 541T, they were never as accurate as Winchester Super X or CCI Mini Mags.

Thank you for the reply, I noticed the case is a little longer on the stingers and thought it was the case stopping them from chambering. They do feed ok in my Remington semi auto 22

The chambers are typically looser on factory 22 semi-autos.

Target chambers are a bit shorter than sporting chambers. It's the extra long case of Stingers that are causing the problem. There's a warning against using them in semi-autos with tight chambers. It may even be written on Stinger boxes.
