Remington .22 ID

I have a rifle that appears old but minty. It is a single shot that breaks in two for transport. Metal butt plate. The serial # is on the barrel and the wood of the butt stock on the underside near the receiver. It came with and resides in heavy canvas case w/ leather straps that when all put away is only about 18" long. I suspect it was for a saddle. Just trying to name it so I can learn a bit more about it

You dont give enough imformation to be of help. Can you post a photo? If not GOOGLE Remington model 4 or 6 and see if either of these look similar.

Sorry fellas.....I gave what I had at the time but w/ some diligence I figured it out.

Its a Rolling-block No 6. Beautiful little take-down.....
