Springfield M1922 M1 22 Hornet

I recently acquired a Springfield Armory M1922 M1, Barrel is dated Oct 1926 , checkered walnut Springfield sporter stock, the rifle is chambered in .22 Hornet
there are no 22 LR markings on the barrel. I know Winchester worked with Springfield Armory to develop the 22 Hornet, and the four men involved in the project each had a rifle built based on the M1922 M1. I have reason to believe this could be one of the original 4 rifles built at Springfield. Anyone have an information on these rifles ? Identical to the one in the link below except mine has no barrel band, and an ebony tip
